The hui to confirm the key components of the Trust Deed ahead of the postal ballott was held at Potahi Marae in Te Kao on Saturday the 24th of July. All the proposed resolutions outlined in the last mail out were passed, including the proposed name for the new Te Aupouri Single Iwi Authority, 'Te Runanga Nui o Te Aupouri'.
The exact date for nominations and elections has not yet been finalised. The existing entities are working on the details of the transition plan and although the Office of Treaty Settlements and Te Ohu Kai Moana have both provided their initial feedback on the proposal, there are a couple of issues still to be agreed.
For now, start thinking hard about good nominees, capable of taking responsibility for leading our new entity.
