PhD opportunity on social and cultural values of marine ecosystems

Kia ora koutou katoa,

We have a PhD project here at the University of Waikato which may be of interest to some of you who were in attendance at the Te Hiku Environmental Research hui, te taiao symposium last March.

Associate professor Marnie Campbell is looking for someone to investigate social and cultural values of marine ecosystems and she has a strong preference for a Māori student to work on the project. She has had quite a bit of trouble finding someone, so if you know anyone who may be interested then please pass the details on and encourage them to apply.

The stipend is more generous than usual and it also has the opportunity to spend a little bit of time abroad with some scientists in North America. I can also vouch for the research group. They are a lovely group of people. It would be an excellent opportunity for someone.

If you would like more information please contact Marnie
