TE RUNANGA NUI O TE AUPOURI TRUST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & NOMINATION OF NEW TRUSTEES

AGM Notice

Our AGM for the financial year ending 30th September 2018 will be held at Potahi Marae, Te Kao, on 23rd March 2019 starting at 8.30am.  To reduce costs, Annual Reports will no longer be posted to all iwi members. The reports will be available on the Runanga website and at the Runanga office. A link to the report will be sent out via email to those members who have current email addresses and a hardcopy can be posted to you upon request.

Call for Nominations

This year we are looking for nominations to fill three of the seven trustee positions for Te Runanga Nui o Te Aupouri Trust.  Waitai Petera, Richard Witana and Sonny Christie are the current trustees required to vacate their positions at the upcoming AGM.  These trustees can be nominated for re-election but must follow the same nomination process as new nominees.

All relevant documents, candidate booklets and voting forms will be posted to you on 22nd February 2019.

Haukainga/Taurahere Representation

Our trust deed requires us to have at least two trustees residing in the haukainga area (north of Mangamuka Gorge) and two trustees residing the taurahere area (south of the Mangamuka Gorge).  Out of the four remaining trustees who are not required to vacate office until 2020 two of them are within the Haukainga region.  This means the 3 highest polling in the 2019 election will be elected as Trustee of the Runanga.

Nomination Forms

Any registered person over the age of 18 can be nominated for these positions as long as they meet the eligibility criteria set out in our trust deed.  The trust deed also sets out a number of expectations of trustees that all nominees will be asked to commit to when they sign the nomination form.  If you would like a nomination form or to check the eligibility criteria, please contact our office on 0800 236 376, email info@teaupouri.iwi.nz or you can download from our website www.teaupouri.iwi.nz

The nomination form must be signed by five registered Te Aupouri Iwi members and be received by 5pm on the 14th December 2018 for a candidate to be eligible for election.  You may contact the office for your number, you will need this when filling in the nomination form.
